MY RED-SCARFED WOMAN

Ali Baba Karakaş – 03 Ocak 2026

I miss you so much, my love
If only you knew how I long for you
Your laughter lingers in the poppy fields
And your scent lives on in the warmth of your embrace

The red of your scarf
Made the poppies blush with envy
There was sunlight shining in your eyes
I couldn’t look—my heart’s knot came undone

Your sudden leaving left me mute
A northern wind swept through my soul
Your absence shut me inside myself
Come—so I may find life again

Bring the part of me you still hold
Let me flow into your heart as love
Give me your affection, and I will bloom
You, the scent—I’ll be the seedling

Nights always bring you to mind
And your laughter lingers in my days
I dread the day's slow turn to dusk
For sorrow settles in, and I see your smile

That first glance—on a sorrowful June night
Wrapped my heart in the heat of July
I stood frozen, lost in your gaze
My lips were sealed by your beauty
