TO BE YOU, MY WOMAN

Ali Baba Karakaş – 03 Ocak 2026

I’m waiting for you, my woman
Be the woman of my heart, with the taste of a poem
In what distant lands are you—I don’t know
Are you in the cold, or in the warmth?

Are you free, or are you captive?
I remained in you, my woman
So many stories piled up while waiting for you
To write us would be the loveliest novel

To find you in the poet’s tender lines
To read your eyes like verses steeped in grace
To feel the sun’s warmth within your heart
I lingered on your lips, my sorrow-eyed beloved

Another year has passed in your absence
I’ve no more patience, no more endurance
Before life runs out, come back to me
If only I could have lived you with the taste of love

Let me belong not to the earth, but to you
Time has lost its meaning
The seasons faded, the past became senseless
Come to my face like the dawn’s first light,
So that I may be yours.
